Background
David has enjoyed a successful career as a civil trial lawyer for over 25 years, representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial and residential property damage, construction defect, personal injury, wrongful death, aviation, and product liability related matters.
In 1988 David graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in accounting and passed the CPA exam. David worked as a Certified Public Accountant for John P. Barbee, U.S Bankruptcy Trustee, conducting business valuation, forensic accounting, fraud investigation and business reorganization for entities under Chapter 7 & 11. In 1997 David graduated from St. Mary’s University Law School. He has practiced law in Florida for more than 25 years, beginning with the Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm of Montero, Finizio, Velasquez, Weissing & Reyes handling personal injury, wrongful death, aviation and product liability claims. David successfully tried to verdict a traumatic brain injury claim as well as other personal injury claims. David also represented Group 1 Automotive, a Fortune 500 automotive retailer, prosecuting breach of contract claims as well as defending consumer claims for violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. David worked for the statewide firm of Groelle & Salmon, P.A. and was made a partner of the firm for his work defending many of the largest property insurance companies in Florida. In 2017, David opened his own law firm representing Florida insurers defending residential and commercial property damage claims. In 2022, David began serving exclusively as a neutral mediator and arbitrator.
